ABOUT US
Qatra Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing access to clean and safe drinking water in the rural and underserved regions of Pakistan. Due to rapid population growth, climate change, pollution, and inadequate infrastructure, millions of people across the country still lack this basic necessity. As a result, communities are often forced to rely on unsafe water sources, leading to widespread waterborne diseases such as cholera, diarrhea, and dysentery.
WATER, SANITATION & HYGIENE SERVICES
HANDS provides safe water at a low cost to the underprivileged population of Pakistan through its WASH program. The service also focuses on sanitation and hygiene. Some of the projects undertaken include the provision of clean drinking water, improved sanitation schemes, open defecation-free villages and solid waste management.
In 2022-23, HANDS carried out 16 WASH projects in 34 districts and 1,936 villages and urban settlements with 1.86 million beneficiaries.
